I’d like to think it’s because she misses me, but really it’s probably because she’s a little stir-crazy due to a cold, but my mom wanted us to meet up at Ross Park Mall today, on one of the busiest shopping days of the year. She didn’t really have anything she needed to buy, and neither did I… but there’s a certain kind of “recentering” that seems to happen when we spend time together. I don’t know of any other way to explain it, but when work is crazy and I’m so tense my jaw keeps locking up, I can spend a couple hours with my mom (or any combination of my mom, my dad, and Taco), and suddenly I’m back to normal. Thank goodness.
Anyway, we wandered aimlessly around Ross Park for a couple hours and didn’t really buy much of anything. To be honest, the mall wasn’t nearly as crazy as I’d expected it to be – we were able to find parking with no problems and the only store that was out of control was Lush (because their store is so friggin tiny). The one thing my mom was loosely looking for was a calendar for in her purse, but she didn’t find one. I found the calendar in the picture, though, and started laughing like an immature child in the middle of the mall.
I don’t think I’ll be taking that dog’s advice anytime soon, but at least it made me giggle. 🙂
