Construction is still happening at work, so I worked from home again today. I’m not going to lie, I love not having to waste two hours commuting when I work from home, but I really do miss the office. Especially now, in the new(er) role – it’s a very challenging role, so I prefer to be in the office to ask questions these days. When I’m in a meeting at home and I try to catch someone’s eye to see if what I’m saying makes sense, there’s no one there.
There are a couple additional benefits to working from home, though – being able to do laundry between meetings, getting to spend part of the morning working from my bed, getting to the gym earlier, and being able to make whatever I want for lunch. Today that was key, since I’d forgotten to prepare anything (good thing I didn’t go to the office). So I threw together some Dave’s Killer Bread and a couple slices of cheese, and toasted them up. This might have been the best grilled cheese I’ve ever made. For real. I’m not sure if it was the bread, using more than one slice of cheese, or the fact that I can’t remember the last time I had a grilled cheese, but it was pretty fantastic. Plus, it had some nice melty action.
Working from home may not be ideal these days, but I’ve found ways to appreciate it. 😉
