The highlight of today, aside from officially being on vacation until Tuesday morning, was that I made perfect brown rice. Sure, it doesn’t seem like much of an accomplishment, but this was just so much better than most of the other rice I’ve ever made, and I have the pressure cooker to thank for it. 18 minutes of pressurized heat, and the rice that normally takes 45-50 minutes to make was perfectly chewy without being soggy or undercooked.

I wasn’t quite sure how much used I’d get out of the pressure cooker when I bought it, but finding little uses for it (like rice) makes it easier for me to depend on it more and more. So far, I’m still happy with the purchase. 🙂

    Funny thing. I suck at making rice, because it either comes out soggy or crunchy. Pressure cooker. Gonna look into that.
