You can’t really tell from the picture, but if you were anywhere near Pittsburgh today, you know it was raining pretty much nonstop. Normally all I want to do when it’s chilly and rainy is stay in bed, but that’s basically what I did yesterday, so I had to hit the road today. When I parked near the park & ride today and walked towards the busway, I noticed that everything seemed strangely peaceful – it’s as though everyone else got the ‘stay in bed’ memo. For a few brief moments, there were no traffic sounds, no train, no buses, and no one walking near me. What I did hear was the chorus of raindrops splattering into a puddle, and with all the other sounds muted, they sounded like a tiny waterfall. When I found the source of the symphony, I had to snap a picture – not only did it sound beautiful, but the colors were so vibrant and gorgeous to look at!
Definitely one of the highlights of my day, if for no other reason than it stopped me in my tracks and made me appreciate the blissful quiet on my way to work. 🙂
