My one goal before work today was to find decent waterproof shoes or boots that I can wear on future volunteer outings since I’ve learned that fire scenes are always wet and usually muddy. You wouldn’t believe how hard it is to find shoes that are comfortable, easy to run in, and waterproof. After a couple hours of fruitless searching, I almost settled for big rubber rain boots (which would not be the best to run in, but oh well), and then I stepped into Marshalls. These guys were on the clearance rack, in the wrong section for their size, and they were the only pair of them in the whole entire store. I tried them on, fully prepared to waste my money on the rain boots, but they fit like a glove. Like, so perfect. And then I looked at the price tag – $15. Best. Score. Ever.
My work here is done. (Now time to go to “real” work!)
