In my quest to be ultra-healthy for the next couple weeks, I bypassed a sandwich for lunch and went straight for the smoothie. I’d nearly forgotten about cake batter smoothies, even though they’re ridiculously easy to make – I always head for the cafe latte or chocolate Shakeology bags instead of the vanilla, which is what I use to make it. But since it’s Saturday, I had a sort of rough volunteer night last night, and I have to go to work in a few minutes, I figured I’d make my healthy lunch as fun as possible… so I added some whipped cream and sprinkles. Unfortunately for me, these are the only sprinkles I’ve seen in days, since the skies have refused to rain since I bought my rain jacket. This is probably the longest dry spell I’ve ever experienced in Pittsburgh…

Sure, the whipped cream and sprinkles probably take a little of the “ultra-healthy” adjective away from the smoothie, but compared to pizza or a chicken liver pâté sandwich (what I really wanted), it was still downright saintly.

Bonus: now I have tons of energy for what is sure to be a crazy night at work. Yay?
