Sweet Peaches

It’s time for a new favorite snack of the week!

This week I bought a whole bunch of fresh (and perfectly ripened) peaches, cut them into slices, froze them on cookie sheets, and then stored them in freezer bags. There is a much easier way to enjoy this snack of the week, and it’s this remarkable process called ‘Buy frozen peaches.’ Unfortunately for me, Aldi is a tease and only had frozen peaches a few weeks ago and no longer. So. Fresh peaches –> frozen it is.

Anyway, for the snack, you set your frozen peaches in a bowl, toss them in a wee bit of basil simple syrup, and let them sit for a couple minutes. You want them to be mostly frozen, but just the teensiest bit soft. When they’re at the desired texture, eat!

So simple, and so crazy-delicious. I blame the basil simple syrup. This stuff has been going on everything lately. 🙂
