Pizza Fake-Out

Pizza Fake-Out

I’ve had a bit of a stressful day and night, and I’ve started thinking about pizza. Thinking about buying one and eating it, actually. I’m not against the idea, and it’s been a long time since I’ve been to Caliente, but I’m not willing to splurge just because “people suck,” as a friend said.

Since I had to be at the volunteer chapter for part of the night, I was in close(ish) proximity to Whole Foods. Instead of buying a pizza, I opted to buy an old favorite that I know has historically fooled my mouth into thinking I’m eating pizza – garlic marinated olives. It sounds silly, I know, but I swear it – the garlic olives there taste so much like ‘zza.

So I loaded up a container of garlic olives, Tuscan olives, Castelvetrano olives, and cornichons (because why not), and took them to my car for a little pre-dinner snack. I only had one or two out of each section, but they did the trick – the pizza craving is gone, at least temporarily.

Long live garlic marinated olives! 🙂
