Succumbed

Succumbed

I woke up this morning, tried to swallow, thought “nope!” and went back to bed. I ended up taking a sick day, and it was legitimate – it feels like I’ve gotten worse and worse as the day (and night) has gone on. No use complaining about it, but that’s where I am today: thankful I can take a sick day with no consequences.

I did keep an eye on emails since the time off was unplanned, but all went fairly smoothly. I even jumped on a call at 3, and when the people asked if I was there, I croaked out a weak, “Hi. Yeah, I’m here.” and they were impressed that I’d joined even though I was sick and had an out of office message up. Considering we just went “live” with them this morning and they’re an enormous customer, I didn’t think I had much of a choice, but I’m glad they appreciated it. 🙂

Off to try to get some more rest, even though that’s literally all I’ve done today. We’re supposed to have a playoff volleyball game tomorrow, and I’d like to attend if I can manage to not feel like dying on the court. Better rest up so I at least have a shot at making it!

  1. Nothing Personal says:

If you want, your threat to cut me for being around you in a sickly state a few weeks ago is still valid. Whatever it takes to make you feel better. 🙂
