I was thisclose to having the coolest after-work event ever today, but plans got canceled at the last minute. A friend and fellow volunteer who also volunteers with a local fire department texted me to ask if I’d be interested in a “special ops” mission involving helicopters tonight. No one in their right mind would turn that down, so of course I changed around my evening. The plan, I later found out, was to do a life flight helicopter safety class with the firefighters, but the class was canceled right before it was scheduled to start. I hung out at the firehouse for a little while and there was talk of going to their training facility nearby for some training exercises, but that fell through as well. Instead, I headed back home.
On my way to get back onto the parkway, though, I was stopped at a light next to this big black van with a sticker on the side that read “Fueled by Bacon.” If ever there was a bumper sticker that perfectly describes my life, that is it.
New life goal: find bacon bumper sticker. (Other new life goal: life flight helicopter safety training. Sometimes you don’t know you want something until you can’t have it!)
