At last night’s wedding, we had a liquor that we don’t normally stock – Chambord. I’d had it in a drink or two years ago, but I’d never made anything with it myself since we don’t typically have it in the bar. My interest was piqued, though, because the drinks we made with it were so pretty… so I bought some raspberry schnapps this afternoon (because the schnapps are good enough for me – no use spending more than double for the brand name liqueur).
So after I got home from dinner with my parents, I made myself a little concoction and gave the schnapps a whirl. I paired it with vodka and orange seltzer, and it wasn’t half bad. It was, however, rather strong – I’m glad I was in for the night and didn’t have anywhere to go. I’m considering pairing it with elderflower liqueur and maybe gin (or more vodka) in the future, just to see how the flavors pair together.
Guess I have my work cut out for me in order to find a purple drank that tastes really good! 🙂
